A novel computational model for cerebral blood flow rate control mechanisms to evaluate physiological cases

In this study, a new numerical model simulating interaction among static cerebral autoregulation, cerebrovascular CO2 and O2 reactivities systemic peripheral resistance regulation was developed integrated into cardiovascular system including heart chambers, pulmonary circulations, circulation with Circle of Willis. Simulations were performed to evaluate blood flow in healthy condition, effect altered autoregulation failure, impaired malignant hypertension, effects arterial pressures hypercapnia, hypocapnia hypoxemia on flow. Also, sensitivity analysis assess influence pressure, aortic pressure set point the autoregulatory function, resistance, left ventricular active passive properties rate. There high positive correlation between rate whereas contractility influenced slightly. Cerebral 721 mL/min, 606 1313 950 504 mL/min 972 respectively. Simulation results showed that can be used various physiological cases.
